Subterranean Termites or "white-ants" are a highly destructive timber pest, causing major structural timber damage to domestic and commercial buildings in the Northern Beaches Region.

BEWARE • Home Insurance does NOT cover termite damage to structural or other timbers in a residential or commercial property, which could be severe • the replacement cost of termite infested structural timbers in the roof and walls may well exceed $50,000.

Most Homes are at High Risk in the Northern Beaches Region, particularly in higher density areas where large gum trees are closeby a building • landscaping timbers and garden mulch increases the risk • older style homes, built low to the ground, with poor ventilation, are ripe for subterranean termite attack and should be protected by a Termite Preventive Barrier to AS.3660. |
             |
We recommend a FUMAPEST Termite Inspection Report to AS.3660 • which includes a thorough inspection of all buildings and surrounds • a written report noting areas inspected • evidence found of termite activity • high risk termite entry areas inaccessible to inspection • and quoted prices for termite treatment options.

AS 3660 Termite Preventive Barrier basically involves the chemical treatment of soil around the perimeter and/or the sub-floor of a building • this is best long term protection option available in most situations • Termidor or Premise termiticide is used.

FUMAPEST has Professional Indemnity Insurance to cover the cost of repairs of termite damage to structural and other timbers in a building in which FUMAPEST has installed a complete Termite Preventive Barrier to AS 3660 using Termidor or Premie termiticide. |
